We are looking for a Research Engineer in the field of structural/civil engineering to join their long products specialized team within our client’s R&D center. This team works on developing products and solutions that enhance our client’s offer differentiation and contribute to its growth in the global market, supporting technical sales internationally.

🚀 MISSIONS

Within a team of 9 people, you will be responsible for managing various research projects aimed at developing new applications, new products, and innovative technical solutions in the field of construction and infrastructure.

In detail, you will be expected to:

  • Lead end-to-end R&D projects: bibliographic studies, identifying the most relevant approaches and potential partners, carrying out additional tests if necessary, and drafting summary reports to ensure knowledge sharing.
  • Define and optimize case studies to assess the competitiveness of our client’s products and solutions, identifying research gaps.
  • Develop methodologies and design rules for widespread use of the newly developed solutions.
  • Summarize and communicate project results to the team and partners.
  • Continuously monitor new trends in the sector, identify research needs, and initiate new R&D projects with clients, international partners, and other research laboratories.

🧑‍🚀 DESIRED PROFIL

ACADEMIC SPHERE

You hold an engineering degree or a PhD in civil or structural engineering, or a related field. You have at least 3 years of professional experience in a structural design office or in a related industrial R&D environment.

TECHNICAL SPHERE

  • You are proficient in designing various types of structures, using different materials and complying with current standards and norms. Steel design is essential.
  • Knowledge of steel/reinforced concrete, timber, and steel-concrete composite design is a plus.
  • You are familiar with design software and have a good command of numerical modeling.
  • Knowledge of the construction market is an advantage.
  • Performance-based design, considering seismic, fire, and dynamic loads, is an advantage.
  • Programming skills are a plus, enabling you to develop new approaches that go beyond standard regulations.

  • Pedagogical skills for interacting with plant teams
  • Excellent communication skills with a variety of stakeholders
  • Autonomous and proactive in finding solutions
  • rigorous and conduct your studies using a structured scientific approach,
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn continuously
  • You are fluent in English. Proficiency in French or German is an asset.
